Mini-Excavator Competition
Seat belt must be secure before the competitor begins.
Time starts when the bucket is raised from its starting area. If seat belt is not secure there will be a 50-point penalty added, the judge will then stop the competitor and instruct them to secure their seat belt. Time will continue to run during this process.
The course is open to whichever side the competitor would like to start on first.
The object of the left side of the course is to reach the bucket and boom over the top of the barricade and knock off each of the tennis balls without hitting the barricade or cones. The cones with the tennis balls will be placed slightly in front of the barricade. If a cone is touched with any part of the bucket a 25-point penalty will be added for each hit. If the barricade is touched with any part of the bucket or boom a 50-point penalty will be added for each hit.
The objective on the right side of the course is to reach the bucket over the top of the barricade and knock off each of the tennis balls without hitting the barricade or cones. The cones with the tennis balls will be placed slightly behind the barricade. If a cone is touched with any part of the bucket a 25-point penalty will be added for each hit. If the barricade is touched with any part of the bucket or boom a 50-point penalty will be added for each hit.
Once all the tennis balls have been knocked off the operator will then need to place their bucket on to the rubberized cone base for the judge to stop the timer.
Time will be set at 2:00 to complete the course. Any additional time over 2:00 will result in a 1-point per second penalty.
Avoiding any obstacle is an automatic 3:00 time and max points extra per obstacle.
To assist with provided time restraints of the competition schedule, competitors will be stopped at the 2:30 mark and 200 point penalty will be added.
